Get to know Max:
Max joined the PHIL team in 2022. He provides support on the various projects the research team focuses on, helping with transcribing, coding, and analyzing data. Max is interested in promoting community engagement and community-based research. When not at work, you can find Max window shopping downtown and enjoying all the nature Sonoma County has to offer. 

Experience:
Max graduated with his B.A. in Sociology and a minor in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley in 2021. His passion for addressing food insecurity and supporting basic needs led him to volunteer at his university’s food pantry and the Berkeley Student Food Collective, a student-run, co-op grocery store that aims to address food insecurity among Berkeley residents. Prior to joining PHIL, Max worked at the Redwood Empire Food Bank, coordinating multiple food distributions each week.
