The Sonoma County Department of Health Services (DHS) is hosting its second statewide Behavioral Health Bridge Housing Collaborative symposium, November 16-18, 2026, in Santa Rosa, California. The symposium focuses on advancing systems improvement for unhoused individuals with serious mental illness and/or substance use disorder, and this year’s event will highlight practical strategies, cross-system collaboration, and innovative models communities can apply locally. To solicit speakers and input from around the state, DHS has released a call for presenters and papers. MFHA teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges. Participants learn the common signs & symptoms of mental illness and substance use disorders, how to support a person in crisis, and how to connect a person with help using the "ALGEE" action plan. Earn a 3-year certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
