Josh Gryniewicz is the founder and Chief Narrative Strategist of Odd Duck, a storytelling-for-social-change consultancy specializing in health and public interest communication. For more than a decade, he has worked at the intersection of communication, public health, community engagement, and social change, helping organizations understand not only what to say, but how people make sense of the world around them.

Over the past several years, Josh has increasingly focused on the information environment surrounding public health. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Odd Duck developed a Navigating Misinformation for Community Health framework after seeing firsthand how misinformation could derail effective health communication. The framework has since been shared with more than 10,000 community-based organizations and incorporated into public-health education and training. Josh has also advised organizations working on vaccine confidence, health misinformation, and community trust, including through the de Beaumont Foundation’s Misinformation Working Group.

Josh is also an author and storyteller. He is the coauthor of the national bestseller Interrupting Violence and has written for publications including STAT, The Guardian, PopMatters, and HuffPost.
