Get to know Sue:
Since 2015, Sue’s work at the Population Health Innovation Lab has focused on fostering innovation and collaboration to advance community health systems. Some examples of Sue’s work are creating and supporting learning collaborative for the California Accountable Communities for Health (ACH), facilitating the Vermont Learning Lab for ACHs, and contributing to research projects examining ACH models in California and Washington. When Sue is not working, she is playing with Koda the Goodest Boy, her yellow labrador, and traveling with her husband, Greg.
Experience:
Before joining PHI, Sue held various leadership roles at the Washington State Department of Health (WSDH), demonstrating her expertise in health innovation and community well-being. Her positions included Special Assistant for Health Transformation and Innovation, Director of the Office of Healthy Communities, Director of the Office of Community Wellness and Prevention, and State Chronic Disease and Maternal and Child Health Director. Earlier in her career, Sue served as the Director of the Cowlitz County Health Department in Longview, Washington, where she led efforts to improve local public health initiatives.
