Meet the Lead Trainers
Cassandra Mohan
Cassandra earned her bachelors degree in biology from the University of Chicago and graduated with an MSPH in epidemiology from Emory University. Before joining the Population Health Innovation Lab, Cassandra worked in infectious disease epidemiology at New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, New York State Department of Health, and CDC. Cassandra has a passion for outbreak response and prevention, data visualization, and innovative public health solutions. Cassandra also brings her experience as a former science educator, and she enjoys creating and leading collaborative learning activities for public health partners.
Sean Aluko
Seun earned his MPH in Biostatistics and epidemiology from University of Illinois-Chicago. He currently works as a Lead Research Scientist at the Population Health Innovation Lab (PHIL) where he leads and supports research and evaluation projects that aim to connect health partners with evidence to inform systems-level approaches that can eliminate health disparities. Before joining PHIL, Seun worked as an Epidemiologist supporting PHI’s California Contact Tracing Support Initiative, where we supported CA counties mitigate the burden of COVID-19 in congregate settings. He previously worked with California Dept. of Public Health as a Health Informaticist focused on surveillance activities for Viral & Bacterial STIs. His experience is in surveillance & outbreak response activities, research & evaluation, database management and visualization.
Stephanie Bultema
Stephanie earned a PhD in Public Affairs at the University of Colorado Denver and an M.A. in Administrative Leadership from Whitworth University, with additional coursework completed through Washington State University’s Master of Health Policy and Administration program. She works as Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Innovations (MERLIN), where she serves as research Principal Investigator and directs the scientific vision and strategy for PHIL. Before joining the PHIL team, Stephanie worked as Senior Researcher in the Center on Network Science and principal consultant of Bultema Consulting LLC. She served as a public health professional from 2010-2017, most recently as Assessment Epidemiologist. She served as President of the School Health Care Association of Spokane County and as Board Member for Communities in Schools of Spokane County from 2015-2017.
